The Treasurer maintains the Sangha Treasury, money donated to the Sangha, and pays the expenses associated with the Sangha, such as the monthly donation to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County for the use of Edgewood House and monthly dana for our Teacher. Other expenses include Special Event Insurance for Sesshins and other Sesshin expenses, expenses associated with the website, and other expenses for supplies such as candles, incense etc.

Monmouth Zen Circle is not a 501(c) non-profit organization and does not have a checking account at this time, so dana to the Sangha should be in cash.

On the other hand, dana to our Teacher Kotatsu John Bailes via One Heart Zen is tax deductible.
