The bell ringer uses a cow bell to mark time for lights out at night and for wake-up in the morning.

Keep bell with you for the whole Sesshin. Note the lights out and wake-up times, as they differ for different days.

Lights out bell:

Ring gently thru through all occupied hallways

Wake-up bell:

Bell should be rung vigorously up and down all occupied hallways.

Bell should be returned after the Sesshin.
